Technology continues to advance beyond belief in some cases, whether it’s the latest smart device or the latest technology to do with your car, it’s hard for anyone to keep up with how things work.

Many years ago, the simpler fixes for our cars used to be fairly straight forward to work on ourselves at home with just a few hand tools from your garage. Unfortunately now, even the simplest of tasks on your car have become much more difficult. With so many electronic gadgets on vehicles they need many sensors and a master computer to monitor each of these sensors. When a car has one of these master computers, otherwise known as an ECU, the best way to diagnose any problem with a car is to start with a scanning tool to find out what the ECU is seeing.

These scanning tools are usually only available to main car dealers and automotive repair businesses but now we have Fixd.

Fixd is basically a vehicle scanning tool that has a sensor you can plug into more recent cars and use an app on your phone to scan the car for faults.

Here we will take a brief look at what Fixd is and how it works but if you would like to see a review of this useful tool then click this link on does Fixd work.

    What is Fixd?

Fixd is a sensor that should fit any recent vehicles diagnostics port, which once plugged in will automatically scan your vehicle for any faults from your vehicles sensors. If any faults are found the sensor will then send these to an app you would need to download to your phone or smart device after purchasing the tool. These fault codes should then help you pinpoint the area of your car that needs your attention.

It’s important to remember before investing in this tool that it doesn’t diagnose what exactly is wrong with your car, but will only be able to point you to the systems that have a fault because of the underlying problem.

If this sounds like a tool that could be useful to you then make sure to check that it is compatible with your vehicle. Fixd should be compatible with any “gas” powered cars sold after 1996, this includes some hybrid cars sold in this period.

You should also check that the smart device you wish to use the app on has a compatible operating system and a reliable data connection. Bluetooth is also required.
